MTA--UNUM Disability Plan Alert

If you have one or both of their plans (Short Term Disability and Long Term
Disability Income), please read your certificate or contract in detail. Pay special attention to Page 18, which describes all the types of benefits that can and will be used to reduce a payment to you in the event of your disability
under the terms of the contract. These restrictions are similar to other group plans but most people are not aware of them. This is also a reason to consider an individual plan.
